Before You Buy: Home Wellness Equipment Delivery and Installation Guide

Purchasing a massage chair, sauna, cold plunge, hot tub or other home wellness product is an exciting investment. However, choosing the right product is only part of the process.

Before placing your order, it is important to confirm that the product will fit through your home, work with your available electrical service and operate safely in its intended location.

This guide will help you prepare for delivery and avoid common issues such as restricted access, unsuitable flooring, insufficient ventilation and unexpected electrical work.

1. Measure the Product and Your Space

Never rely only on the dimensions of the room where the product will be used. You must also measure the complete delivery path.

Measure the following areas:

  • Exterior gates and walkways

  • Front, side or garage doors

  • Doorframes and thresholds

  • Hallways and corners

  • Staircases and landings

  • Elevators and condominium entrances

  • Basement access

  • Ceiling height

  • The final installation area

Pay particular attention to the narrowest part of the delivery path. A product may fit perfectly inside the room but still be too large to pass through a doorway, turn around a corner or travel down a staircase.

Whenever possible, compare the product’s packaged dimensions with its assembled dimensions. Some products arrive in multiple boxes, while others may arrive partially or fully assembled.

Helpful measuring tip

Take photographs and videos of the delivery path before ordering. If you are uncertain, send them to the Relaxacare team with your measurements so we can help identify possible concerns.

Final access and fit remain the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

2. Confirm the Electrical Requirements

Electrical requirements differ between products and models. Never assume that a sauna, cold plunge or massage chair will work with an existing outlet simply because the plug appears compatible.

A product may require:

  • A standard 120V outlet

  • A dedicated 15-amp or 20-amp circuit

  • A 240V electrical connection

  • GFCI protection

  • A specific outlet configuration

  • Professional installation by a licensed electrician

A dedicated circuit means that the circuit is reserved for that product and is not shared with lights, appliances or other electrical devices.

Existing outlets may be connected to additional outlets or equipment elsewhere in the home. This can overload the circuit or cause breakers to trip when a wellness product is operating.
